Personal Focus Offers

We provide specialist programmes that offer individualised learning and support  in:

  • Wellness
  • Self development
  • Pre employment

Framework has embraced the Strengths Model (Charles A. Rapp). The model focuses on the strengths of individuals,  and allows them to establish achievable goals that meet their needs and aspirations.

  • Personal Focus programmes are designed to promote collaborative learning and the meaningful inclusion of people with experience of mental illness into their communities of choice
  • Programmes are designed to be portable enabling delivery to take place at Framework sites and at community venues throughout the Auckland area 
  • The Personal Focus team will endeavour to create a safe, culturally sensitive and supportive learning environment
  • Personal Focus emphasises developing  individual autonomy with a view to progressing through the service  to employment or further learning or education

Personal Focus Programmes

A variety of programmes is offered throughout the year resulting in many significant achievements, which are acknowledged and celebrated.

Programmes include:

  • Confidence and self esteem
  • Outdoor activities
  • Fitness and wellness
  • Driver licence theory
  • Performing and visual arts
  • Creating an up-to-date CV
  • Job hunting and interview skills

Specialist Programmes

Youth Focus:

A programme designed  specifically  for young people aged 16 to 25 years . The programme provides an opportunity for young people to connect with others who have experienced mental ill health.  In this programme we adopt creative and cultural ways of exploring who we are, where we want to go, and how to get there.  We also look at ways of coping and staying well on the recovery journey.  

Woodwork:

Woodwork develops people’s potential while also generating sound work habits and skills as well as the scope to design and produce a project.  People may continue to move on to further employment or training as a direct result of the degree of skill development and support they receive in the programme.

Horticulture and Organic Gardening

The Kelmarna Organic City Farm provides training opportunities and self development designed around productive organic vegetable gardening and horticulture. Kelmarna Garden is located at 12 Hukanui Cres, Herne Bay. The programme offers specialist training in organic horticulture, sustainable development and individualised learning and support in:

  • Horticulture
  • Sustainable living
  • Life skills
  • Self development
  • Pre-vocational skills

Referral to Personal Focus:

Personal Focus programmes are available to people from 16 to 65 years of age. Referral to the service can be made by any of the following:

  • Self referral
  • Community Support Worker
  • Community Mental Health Centres
  • Supported Accommodation Providers
  • Family / Whanau
  • General Practitioner
  • Other Framework services
