Personal Focus
Programmes
A variety of
programmes are offered throughout the year resulting in many significant
achievements which are acknowledged and celebrated.
Programmes include:
• Confidence and self esteem
• Outdoor activities
• Fitness and wellness
• Driver licence theory
• Performing and visual arts
• Create an up-to-date CV
• Job hunting and interview skills.
Pre-vocational skills:
Pre-vocational
skills programmes are designed to promote the development of good work practice
and skills that can be transferred into any employment situation. These include:
• Punctuality
• Health and safety in the workplace
• Working with others in a workshop
environment
• Modules are delivered at beginner,
intermediate and advanced levels.
Woodwork:
The workshop
trains and develops people’s potential through woodworking whilst also
generating sound work habits and skills.
A variety of vocational opportunities exist for people as well as the
scope to design and produce a project.
People continue to move on to further employment or training as a direct
result of the degree of skill development and support they receive in the
programme.
Referral into Personal Focus:
Personal Focus programmes
are available to people from 18 to 65 years of age. Referral to the service can
be made by any of the following:
• Self referral
• Community Support Worker
• Community Mental Health Centres
• Supported Accommodation Providers
• Family / Whanau
• General Practitioner
• Other Framework services
